Julian Assange .. the guy behind all this fuss
Dear editor,
After watching and studying this whole WikiLeaks controversy which is the cause of the world's upheaval, my opinion about whether this whole situation is right or wrong, has been made. What do we really know? Just because something is on the news, doesnt mean it's exactly what happened. Information get twisted, and sometimes .. the truth is left out.
I do not find Julian Assange guilty of anything. He, as any other person, believes that the truth should be revealed. He did so by revealing many confidential documents of the U.S and many other countries. He believes that everyone should know the truth and should not be lied to. The revealing of these documents created a dramatic controversy in the world, whether it was people who were shocked to find out the truth of some events, or others who oppose Assange's action and believe some things are better left unsaid.
More than 300,000 documents were released by Assange, some that show the innocent death of young people, which in the news might say "it was only done for protection". One of those documents show an Apache Helicopter, with a gunner shooting down on who they thought were insurgents, but actually turned out to be News Reporters. The things said and done extremely shocked me in that video; I would have never thought a thing like this would be done. But now, I thank Assange because his determination in wanting the truth to be revealed to everyone in the is what is making everything clear and vivid for us, and now, we actually know what is happening in this world.
Some people believe that Assanges actions is wrong, and that it will cause political problems and leave many countries discontent. But what I dont understand is, why be mad at the truth? Why be lied to? Why not KNOW whats happening in the world? Why believe something from one perspective? Why be not worth the truth?
So in conclusion, the lies and the disguises are all being revealed and the truth is what from now on, will be shown. So why live in a big bubble of lies, when the truth is just sitting there waiting for Assange to expose it? ;)

Bomb factory :o
When it comes to those detained prisoners, I would harshly interrogate them, day and night until they confess, but I would not keep those 6 close to each other in order to have no communication with each other no matter what. If nothing happens and they do not cooperate, then I would get more serious and would possibly think of waterboarding or other methods of torture that could make them confess but at the same time, wont extremely physiclly harm them because that could cause problems and the discontent of the countries of those prisoners and cause them to rally. I think the short repercussions would just be the physical pain of those prisoners.
I am willing to do anything to get that information, because peoples lives are on the line.

United States Declaration of War and the German Response to the United States
In the American wordle, the words "Government", "war", "rights", and "German" appeared the most. If trying to figure out the tone of the US declaration of war, I would say that the Americans worried about people's rights during that time and also worried about the German government and wanted peace even though they will defend theirselves and their nation no matter what.
In the German wordle, the words "nations", "war","blockade", and "states" were emphasized and repeated often. It was actually what the Germans wanted; they wanted war. They were ready for it and actually went for it. They threatened to sink anyone who goes on the water and used blockades and submarines to protect themselves. So by that, the 2 wordles show how the U.S and the Germans had a totally different opinion of war.

Call of Duty, just a game or more than that?
Call of Duty is a video game that positions in World War II. It has become very known and widespread among people, especially teenagers, nowadays. It is a game that is surprisingly accurate and quite realistic. It is so realistic that when viewing pictures of soldiers and war events, some people believe it to be real images.
Even though it is just a video game, some people do not agree with it and believe that it should not be allowed to exist. Now I wouldn’t really agree with that, because no matter what, it is still a game.
Some people just play it for fun, and some people play to visualize and sense what it would have felt like to be in war and to be in all that chaos and strain. You might think oh this video contains too much violence, vulgarity, blood, etc... but once again, ITS JUST A GAME.
Call of Duty was a way to show the real events of war, not the clean images we mostly see. There is nothing wrong about seeing a bit of blood, or fighting in order to save your life or your friends’. The thing about video games is that at the end, you pretty much lose nothing. You might lose and die but then you’ll just feel a bit disappointed or upset but you’ll get over it. It’s nothing serious and can affect your life in a way. Some people might say that it is not appropriate, but it’s not like you really were at war and youre going through all that horror, you’re just getting a taste of what it would be like and imagining yourself being there at that time, practicing and fighting and doing all what you think you would have done at that time. It’s just a fictional game, and should not be taken that seriously
Real war is a million times different. There isn’t even a comparison between them! Losing a life during that time isn’t just like dying in a game. In real life, theres no restart button, theres no returns, theres no “play again”, because once youre dead, youre gone.
In the video game, they try to keep it as real as possible. With the blood, the players, the scenes and all, but come on, you know at the end its all not real. The emotions cant even be expressed through the game. The tension, the fear, the excitement.. nothing. You might be jumping up and down and screaming at the game while playing and all that, but unfortunately, the player wont REALLY feel the way the soldiers did out there.
So therefore, I believe that Call of Duty should be allowed to exist because it’s just a game and theres nothing wrong with trying to relate to war and its events and emotions because at the end, the real lost will only be the $60 payed for it, and not a real life.

DIE DIE DIEEEE!!!
COME ONNNN JUST DIEEEE ALREADDYYY! That was the only thing running through my mind while playing the Dogfight game. It seemed pretty cool at first, but it wasnt easy .. AT ALL! Im sure a pilot flying one of those planes during an air-to-air combat situation felt the same! Flying around for quite a long time was tiring and frustrating and you just wanted the other plane to just crash! Going at it for hours and hours made it really provoking, but they couldnt do anything about it because they had to protect themselves and win in that war.
But without those new technologies, wars would have been much more harder and took longer, so I guess we owe everything to technology, once again.

Waiting .. waiting .. still waiting ..
What would the world do nowadays without texting, facebook, email, and all these new technologies?! I admit, I'd die if I didnt have a phone, or wasnt able to log in on facebook for a whole day. But now that im thinking about it, what would happen to me if I was a soldier during World War I? Id have to wait weeeeks just to get a letter.. A LETTER! I get mad if a person doesnt text back quickly, HOW ABOUT WAITING FOR WEEKS?! It isnt easy ..
Many soldiers wrote to their wives, parents, family, and friends to ask how they're doing and assure that they were fine out there in war, but when they sent those letters, they had to wait for weeks to get back a letter, IF they were still alive .. Anything can happen during those two weeks. A family member might recieve a letter from one of the soldiers and then the next day he could be gone.
Waiting is very agonizing and frustrating, so soldiers werent really happy about that at that time and did bother them. Nowadays, you can just easily just lift up the phone and call a loved one and reassure them that you are safe.
An example of one of those letters is a letter sent by a Mr. Adams to his aunt wishing her a Merry Christmas and wishing he was there at the time. It must have been really hard for those soldiers because they couldnt be there physically and had to share their wishes through a letter.
Ironic, because now people just wish a person a Merry Christmas just by simplytexting them or even by writing on their wall .. ha, what a great effect technology has on life now.
