Conserve the Union not slavery!

Abe Lincoln wanted to conserve the union because if he conserved the union it would show he was a powerful leader, and that the nation was a strong nation. If he conserved slavery, the nation would be split into two, and people would view the nation as weak. They would think that if we break our selves up, then any other nation can just come right it and conquer us! And as Americans, Americans always like to feel superior.

History is the lie commonly agreed upon... thats 100% true

History IS the lie commonly agreed on. I definately agree with Voltaire when saying this because history is based on each persons opinion, each persons knowledge and perspective of something. History may be interpreted in a way that differs completely from its truth. Some people believe that just because things and events are written in history books, they are 100% true. when really, they arent. History books are written from the perspective of some people and word it their way or to sometimes, their advantage. Ofcourse no country will publish a book about a tragic war that happened in it and its loss. Whether by not explaining the event well, or just not mentioning it, writers can change the way an event seems and may convince us that that is true, when sometimes, its a lie.
So yes, history is a lie and we might never know the real story behind events that occured in the past and are still happening.

Hmmm.. favorite blog topic?

Well, this is a hard question for sure cause you know, I loved every single one of them... ha.
BUT, when choosing one, I would choose the "Six Word Story" one because despite it being the shortest blog we had to do, just kidding, it still had a big story behind it. Though it was only six words, it pretty much summarized the life of family moving toward the west and summoned up the event. Six words can have a big meaning.
So, I would def. pick that one, though I enjoyed every single one of the others. :)

Agree with disagree with the blogging assestment system? hmm..

WELL, first of alll, I definately love doing the blog posts for this class, just saying :)
I love how its ONLINE, and there isnt really a due date yet at the same time there is? hah. But the topics are fun, and not too hard and interesting and I love how we have selections instead of doing 2 or 3 blog posts you assign, so we can do which ever we like to do.
I dislike though how we kind of have to do them EVERY week, but it actually helped me understand so much while doing them and researching them and made every subject easy to understand. Oh and I also hate how its kind of easy to get off task and get on facebook or something but thats just me, cause I dont concentrate hah.
But other than that,  I definately agree with system and encourage all my other teachers to do it because if they do, then i'd be doing all my assignment and never missing one. But, THEY SHOULDNT. because its only a Meechin thing, and they cant copy you :)

Online > paper and pen!

I have to admit, doing my blog posts online made it SO much easier and less boring, not that it is boring in the first place. But typing it online is just faster and more enjoyable than just to write it down on a piece of paper like we do for every single other class! It also somehow encouraged me to actually do the posts instead of just procrastinating or not doing it. It motivated me to do my work.
WHICH IS WHY I LOVE THIS CLASS, ITS FREAKING AWESOME :)

Yay, we're finally here!

"We're here, we're here!", that was the first thing to be said by the arriving people at Ellis Island. Feeling all anxious and happy and excited to be there, the immigrants couldnt believe it. Though having to be given mental tests and be tested for diseases to be approved for entry, the immigrants were just happy to be there and didnt care. All dressed up and ready to arrive at Ellis Island, the immigrants cannot wait to live a new life different than their ones before. Luxurious ballrooms and dining rooms, oh how can you not be excited about that? So going to Ellis Island is something immigrants were looking for, and was their way of starting a new and better life.

The harsh working of women

The lyrics from "Song of the Shirt" illustrate how hard and rough women's life were back in the days. Their work seemed endless, working from day to night, every single day of the week. They were worn out and exhausted and didnt even get any breaks, and what's even worse, is how little they were paid. The three main ideas of this song were women, religion, rich and poor. Poor, hungry, and dirty, women just stitched, stitched, and stitched all day. This shows how cruel and bad women were treated in the past, and how their lives basically was made up of work everyday and nothing else. After reading the lyrics of this song, I sympathize women for how they were treated at that time yet very proud of their perseverance.
